Let’s begin this week with the best Master on declarations! Who can be a better example than Jesus! From the moment He declared, “It is written and forever remains written..” to “It is finished!”, What He declared, change the course of things.
When He declared in Mathew 4:4, “It is written and forever remains written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’” His declaration put up a fight, and defeated the enemy.
What was He talking about? Satan had just spoken and said: “…if you are the Son of God then turn these stones into bread.” The enemy tried tempting Jesus. Let’s take a moment and look into temptations.
Life is full of temptations. All sorts, sex – lust – pornography, telling a lie, manipulating others, attaching things to make ourselves look better. How long can this list be anyway, just saying? Satan will try to assault us with all kinds of temptations.
In the example above, Jesus is being tempted. He refers to the eternal Word, declaring Deuteronomy 8:3, using it as a weapon against temptation. He quotes the Bible back at the enemy. Hence, the Devil flees.
Declarations have been around for a long time! God created the earth, us, with commands and declarations. The Holy Spirit, God the Father and Jesus the Son are individual personalities, equal in power and are all one to comprise the Trinity. It was the Holy Spirit who spoke to the prophets and inspired them to write the Bible. Thus the written Word is what comes out of the mouth of God. When you declare God’s Word, you are using it with His authority – given to you.
Are you getting the picture? Jesus, being the Word Himself (John 1:1), declared promises that soon the disciples would speak into their world. Jesus commanded them to go heal the sick and deliverance to the captives. They then declared it, and done!Jesus commanded them to go heal the sick and deliver the captives. They declared it, and it was done!
Here we are brothers and sisters, nothing has changed in the Kingdom. The Word of God never changes, it is still “powerful” when spoken in faith. God always honors His Word. We have the authority, the right as sons and daughters of God to use every promise written.
Who are you? You are everything the Bible says you are! More than a conquer, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! This list goes on throughout the Bible.
Going back to Mathew 4, when Jesus was speaking to the devil. The result was…The enemy fled. Jesus is the perfect sample case for us to know how to overcome attacks and temptations. We can overcome financial lack, marriage issues, health problems with the word of our testimony and the Blood of Jesus. Rev 12:11.
Let’s zoom into the encounter Jesus was facing. He was tempted to short change His divine mission and virtually abort His main goal – the salvation of mankind. No, instead, He reached for a weapon, the written Word. He resisted the devil, and as you already know…The enemy flee.
The Word is not only to declare who we are in Christ but also for warfare. Yes, when the enemy comes with depression, unbelief, doubt, weakness, anxiety, low self-esteem, you are not good enough…You know what to do? Fight the good fight of faith... Declare!
DECLARE TODAY
- Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. Luke 10:19 AMPC.
- But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 AMPC.
Next week I will wrap up the Declaration Series. Friends, there are many spiritual warfare scriptures, a whole study is available, and I will begin it in the next series.
He Reigns, and You reign in Him.
